Special Note For Internet Explorer Users - MS Office and PDF file
links on the Web.
If you encounter problems opening or saving MS Office application files ( Word,
Excel etc.) from the web, here are two links to Microsoft that may help.
Basically, it depends on how your computer and IE are set up to handle MS files
on the web. The Microsoft articles linked to below explain the cause and a work
around in case you are interested. If you build web sites you may find the
OutFront Forums a good place to find help, especially if you use FrontPage:

Problem: When you click a Word file link, file opens in Internet Explore instead MS Word. You should be able to "Save as word doc from the File menu. You should also be able to save to disk by "Right clicking" the link and selecting "Save target as". When you click a PDF file, it opens within the Browser window. Save as may be disabled. Try "Right clicking" as described above. This should allow you to save the file to your hard drive.
Caution! 1. Only download files from sites you trust and 2, keep you virus program up-to-date and set to "Auto Protect"

Problem: When you click a Word file link, or click the back button after you haven opened document, you are prompted for a user name and password. Click cancel on the "prompt" and it goes away. This does not seem to be an issue if you save to disk by "Right clicking" and selecting "Save target as" from the menu.
