Universities College of Medicine (NEOUCOM)
Programs:
NEOUCOM is the state medical school for Northeast Ohio established by
the Ohio General Assembly in 1973. NEOUCOM offers students the ability
to obtain a combined bachelor of science degree and a medical
doctorate degree (B.S./M.D.) in as few as six years. NEOUCOM offers
graduate programs in biomedical sciences and biomedical engineering
through Kent State University and The University of Akron. There is
also direct entry into the medical program for students holding
bachelor’s degrees. Focused areas of research include Cardiovascular
Medicine/Lipid Metabolism, Clinical Outcomes/Health Policy, Infectious
Disease/Virology, Neuroscience/Behavioral Systems and Skeletal

Community Technology
Learning Center (CTLC)
Programs: The
Community Action Council of Portage County’s Community
Technology Learning Center (CTLC) of Portage County is a State
of Ohio and WIA-certified school designed to provide a wide
range of Information Technology programs for Portage County
residents specifically designed to meet the changing needs in
the local and regional workforce. The agency’s goal is to
provide a range of technology course offerings at different
aptitude levels in order to meet the needs of a diverse client
base in each community. Our curriculum continues to dynamically
evolve in order to meet the rapid changes in technology and our
client’s needs. All programs offered are certifiable courses
where students attend instructor led training that not only
gives them the hands-on training needed to learn the material
covered but also prepares them for the exams that are required
to earn the certification. Courses include Microsoft’s Office
(MOS), Systems Administrator (MCSA), Systems Engineer (MCSE),
and Database Administrator (MCDBA) courses; CompTIA’s A+,
Network+, Server+, and Security+ courses; and Certiport’s IC3
course for basic computer literacy training. CTLC is a
Microsoft partner, and is also a certified testing center for
any of the VUE-sponsored certification exams. The CTLC is
non-profit and is part of the umbrella services of the Community
Action Council of Portage County. |
